Holistic Health for Addiction Recovery
This course's purpose is to provide those recovering from addiction with a holistic approach to their recovery, or for those who are interested in ways to help those struggling with addiction recovery in their life. Participants will become familiar with several deficiencies that accompany addiction recovery, as well as the vitamins, supplements, and nutrition to help support them. The nutrition science behind a craving will be revealed and what you can do about it. The gut brain connection will be discussed on a nutritional plane as well as introduction to vagal toning skills. There will be implementation of stress management skills such as meditation in many forms, breathwork, grounding exercises, and cold therapy. Finally, the course will dive into the importance of exercise in addiction recovery, neuroplasticity, and the power of commitment through action in order to build self-trust.
Week 1:Vitamins, supplements, and nutrition supportive for addiction recovery

Recovering addicts are commonly malnourished. Beyond this they are facing many deficiencies that are making it more difficult for the body to do its natural functions of detoxification, regeneration, and more. In this course, we will overview supplements that help aid in addiction recovery based on common health issues. This course will also touch on common causes of relapses that are preventable based on nutrition and behavioral changes.
Week 2: Stress Management for Addiction Recovery Utilizing Complementary and Integrative Medicine

Week two focuses on the nervous system, which is commonly dysregulated in recovering addicts. This week you will learn about breaths link with the nervous system, the vagus nerve, and helpful biohacking tools to utilize to regulate your nervous system. The tools we will touch on are breathwork, vagal toning, grounding exercises, meditation, cold therapy, and co-regulation.
Week 3: Exercise for Addiction Recovery

In the third week, we look at the types of exercise, and the benefits of exercise. We deep dive into the neurotransmitters that are released when exercising that are paramount for mental health. We touch on one of my favorite topics of exercise and neuroplasticity, which proves we are so capable of continuing to change and grow. My hope with this course is to share what I have learned with my own addiction recovery and that it benefits you.
